BibWorm Standalone Client

PURPOSE: To provide researchers with a means of effectively managing their individual bibliographical data and link that with results of their research (documents, emails, websites, diagrams, images, soundfiles, etc.) as well as helping them in creating well-formatted and complete citations and bibliographies for papers and books. Plugins allow the standalone client to retrieve various kinds of data from a variety of sources, share own collections (e.g. with a research group) and effortlessly create course reading lists (which can be published for example using the reading list webservice).

TARGET AUDIENCE: any individual researchers such as lecturers, post-graduate students but also undergraduates of a variety of disciplines; possibly journalists.

The following mind map is an early draft of the tasks in which the BibWorm standalone client is intended to support users. (N.B.: Newton is the name of the online catalogue for the libraries of the University of Cambridge.)
